James Woodbourn, of Whitehaven, guilty of stealing a bay gelding, valued at £3, belonging to Joseph Pape in the parish of Holme Cultram on 18th October 1740.

Not stated as executed nor as reprieved: no reprieve traced.

According to the Quarter Sessions papers he was held in gaol for only six weeks beyond the Midsummer Session.  This would bring us to a possible execution in the period Saturday 22nd to Saturday 29th August.
